As you run your feet pound against the ground. Some problems that can occur from all of that impact are sore knees and/or a sore back and maybe even stress fractures. One way to avoid injury is to get good shoes. Your shoes provide the only cushioning between you and the ground. My personal favorite shoe is the Nike Triax.
