If you receive this error message, it is recommended you follow the steps below. Before beginning however, be sure to close FrontPage and disconnect from KCnet.

  1. Click the Start Button and select Settings | Control Panel.

  2. Double click on the Network icon. Verify that Client for Microsoft Networks is listed under the Configuration tab. If it is, skip to step 4.

  3. If Client for Microsoft Networks is not installed, click on Add, Client, Client for Microsoft Networks, and then OK all of the way out. (You may be prompted for a Windows95 CD or disk so be sure to have this ready). If you are asked to give a "Computer Name", "Workgroup" name and "Computer Description", type in a generic term. If you are prompted to restart your computer, do so.

  4. Next, open My Computer by double clicking on the icon, then double click on Dial-Up Networking. Locate the listing that specifies your dial-up networking connection with KCnet.

  5. With your RIGHT mouse button, single click on this listing. Select Properties from the menu that appears.

  6. Click on Server Type button or tab.

  7. Check Log onto Network and click the OK button. Click the OK button again to close out of the properties.

  8. Close your Dial-up Networking window and, if needed, your My Computer window.

  9. Re-connect to KCnet and continue with publishing your files.
